Having joined forces with three local friends at Rivers Studio & Gallery just a few blocks from my home & studio, we're five months in and so grateful for the community's support. This wonderful gallery is adjacent to the working studio of ceramic sculptor Anne Rule-Thompson. Featuring Anne, me, Joy Bridy (clay), Roselyn Mendez (jewelry), and invited guest artisans throughout the year. If you haven't made it over yet, please join us at our next opening reception. Plenty of free parking, restaurants & a great coffee shop nearby! Visit the link below for details, and for info on hands-on workshop opportunities. Details

While it seems warmer than usual, the leaves on the trees are drying up and have that tinge of color that indicate it's officially autumn. I'm taking advantage of the warm weather by recycling the last of the year's clay scraps that I've been collecting and slaking down in a large rubber trash can. Now I have to dry it up a bit on plaster slabs before it can be processed in my pug mill. I use this recycled clay for taller vessels and slab dishes, as it is a little stiffer that the clay that comes out of the bag from my supplier. All this work means one thing . . . the Over The Mountain Studio Tour is just around the corner! While I'll miss being up on the mountain as a guest at Bruce Fransen's studio, I'm excited that there's finally a stop in my town this year, at Rivers. I hope you can make it out for lots of great art and craft along our rural roads!
